What is Climate Change?

Climate change can be defined as a long-term change in the Earth's global climate patterns.  Recent climate change trends have depicted a continuous increase in the average atmospheric and ocean temperatures on Earth apparent from the mid to late twentieth century onwards.  Studies have suggested that climate change, more specifically global warming, can be attributed largely due to human activities and microbes.
